Yachimun pottery painting experience・Yachimun large plate painting experience*The Shisa/animal painting plan and the blue pottery hand-building plan are no longer available.*Electric pottery wheel experiences can be booked through the " Yagaji Island Store " or " Miyako Island Store " website.

Q. Do I need to bring anything?

A. You don't need to bring anything in particular for any of the experiences.You can participate without bringing anything.

Q. What kind of clothes should I wear?

Accepted Answer

A. You can basically wear whatever you like.However, since we use glazes and other materials, we recommend that those who are concerned about stains come wearing clothing that they don't mind getting dirty.Aprons are available, but please note that they do not offer complete protection.

Q. What kind of experience is a "kintsugi (gold repair) experience"?

A. Our Kintsugi experience is an experience in which you repair chipped or cracked pottery and create new beauty in the process.You will perform all the steps yourself, from filing and gluing to repairs and adding gold lines.Based on traditional Japanese techniques, we offer a simplified method so that anyone can experience it.You can take home the pottery you made during the experience on the same day.*Please note that this item is not suitable for use as tableware, but can be enjoyed as a trinket box or decorative item.

Q. What kind of experience is the "Yachimun pottery painting experience"?

A. This is an authentic experience where you will use the three colors of glaze actually used by artisans and paint with a brush.Unlike regular paints, you can't mix the colors together, and it requires skill to use them.It's a bit challenging, but it results in a finish with the unique texture of Yachimun pottery.There is no age limit, but we recommend that children under elementary school age participate with a guardian.For young children up to around 8 years old, we recommend the "Kids! Yachimun Pottery Painting Experience."

A. お好みのいきものに自由に絵を描いて、自分だけのオリジナル作品を作る体験です。シーサーやジンベエザメ、ウミガメ、恐竜など、たくさんの種類から色付けを楽しめます。完成した作品はそのまま当日お持ち帰りいただけます。

Q. What kind of experience is the "Kids! Yachimun Painting Experience"?

A. This is an experience where you can draw using 10 crayon-type glazes, freely layering and mixing them.It's easy for even young children to use and they can enjoy it intuitively.For an experience that values your child's own free thinking and expression.We kindly ask that parents refrain from providing assistance as much as possible.We would appreciate it if you could warmly watch over your child as they spend time creating with their own hands.Parents are also welcome to participate in the experience near their children.We also offer family plans , so please consider them.

Q. What kind of experience is the "Yachimun Large Plate Painting Experience"?

A. You can paint on the largest plate available in our workshop, a 30cm large plate.Using both the three glazes used in the Yachimun pottery painting experience and the ten crayon-type glazes used in Kids! Yachimun pottery painting, children can freely draw and enjoy the bold expressions and designs unique to Yachimun pottery.Normally, each person is required to experience at least one item,For this experience only, one ticket can be shared among up to four people.Since families and groups can create a single piece of artwork together, it's recommended for anniversaries and as a gift.
