[About the product]

Each piece is carefully handmade, so the size and shape may vary slightly. We try to make the colors as close to the actual product as possible, but the colors may vary slightly depending on the lighting conditions.

Please be careful not to use the microwave for long periods of time as this may cause the pan to crack.

Regarding handling of Yachimun pottery

It is said that Yachimun does not require any special care.
Many people enjoy the stains and changes that occur over time in pottery as a way to add character to it.
So it's not very widely known,
Prevents stains and odors from getting on your pottery.
There is also a method called "sealing" that can keep the item in like-new condition.

You can enjoy the beauty of Yachimun in both ways.
I hope you can customize it to your liking.

[How to seal the holes]

The filling process is done by first soaking absorbent ceramic in starch.

This is a method to prevent food ingredients from seeping in.

① To seal the pores of the vessels, use rice water, or a mixture of wheat flour or potato starch dissolved in water.
(If you use wheat flour or potato starch, add 1 to 2 tablespoons per liter of water to use as a substitute for the washing water.)

② Put the rice water and the containers into a pot or other container large enough to completely immerse them.

③ If you want to seal the pores thoroughly, add another handful of rice.

Bring to a boil over low to medium heat.
(Please place the container in room temperature water and heat slowly over low to medium heat. Placing the container in a boiling pot or heating it suddenly over high heat may cause damage.)

5. After boiling, simmer on low heat for about 20 minutes (if you added rice, simmer for about an hour until the rice grains start to crumble), then turn off the heat. Leave to soak for half a day to overnight, then remove the container, wash it, and dry it thoroughly.

⑥ If the container is too large to fit into the pot, pour the above-mentioned rinsing water into a well-dried container to seal the pores.
